No food,no house|Open « Thread Started on Jul 28, 2008, 8:09am »
She walked into Kongs and went to the desk at the front or well side of the entrance than a a person wearing a kimono and holding a menu escorted me to my table.Sitting down she declared to herself that she would eat here more, and find a house today. At least she had a job, hopefully it payed but at least she had a job.She looked at the menu looking for something that she had eaten before,Chicken Subgum,Fried crispey noodles...there thats what she would order.
Wait how do you use chopsticks agian?
The lady in the kimino stared at me and pointed the my hand did a few guestures and walked quickly away.Sighing she picked trough her food holding the chopsticks with two hands. If she was going to go here agian she was going to bring plastic forks and sthingys at least she knew how to use those. After she was halfway trough the subgum and hadn`t even started the crispy noodles she started jabbing the food with the chopsticks,at least it helped.

Eva walked silently into the Chinese Restaurant, one of her favorite places to eat. She was greeted almost instantly by one of the waitresses, who, with a thick accent, asked if she was waiting for anyone. When Eva said she was alone, the woman escorted her to a table near the center of the restaurant. She placed a menu in front of Eva and politely excused herself, walking to a nearby table with a screaming child.
Eva shook her head slightly. She would never understand why parents would allow their children to throw such fits without a single scolding word. Turning to the menu, she skimmed for her favorite item. In the exotic print, she found Chicken Lo Mein with Rice.
A few minutes later, the waitress came back. Eva gave told her the order, and with a nod, the waitress was gone once more. Eva looked around for a moment, and noticed the table next to her housed one young woman.
Do the waitresses say anything around here? Eva said quietly to the teenager, smiling a bit. Eva held out her hand. I'm Eva Winfield. I think I've seen you before. Have I? Eva was sure she had seen the teen roaming Leikela Ranch, but she had never been great with faces. With the chance of being mistaken, she figured she might as well ask the young lady.

She happend to be eating as the woman who was unfountunate for her owned the stable her horses stabled at.She quickly put down her chopsticks and gulpped down the last piece of chicken that she had shoved into her mouth she still had veggies on her plate and one of the chopsticks had a veggie still stuck on the end of it.She smiled at Eva and hearing Evas questions thought for a moment before ansering Eva.
"I don`t know your first anser. And yes I believe my two horses stable at your ranch.I am Callista Lyinda ,owner of Desperenzia and Roan Music."
With those words spoken she glared at the mother of the crying toddler, who took once glance at Callista and smiled sweetly at her.Giveing up with trying to talk to the mother with glares she tryed one last desprate move to get her chopsticks working.Or her hands working to make the chopsticks work.Luckyly it worked and she daniteyly picked up a fried crispy nooodle with her chopsticks.Smiling she looked back at the owner of the ranch or Eva if she rememberd her name right.

Now Eva remembered. If there was one face she remembered better than anything, it was the face of a horse. Desperenzia and Roan Music had only been boarding for a few days, but she had gotten to know them pretty well. The mare seemed to be jittery and hyper most of the time, but she was a sweetie anyway. And that stallion...some days he was a fiery spirit, and some he was as sweet as could be.
Oh, yes. That's right. It's a pleasure to officially meet you, Callista. Eva reached out to shake the teenager's hand. You own a couple of fine horses, if I do say so myself. Do you show them?
Though Eva had never been big on showing, herself, she admired the hard work the riders put into showing their horses. It wasn't that it was too much hard work for Eva, she just didn't like what the show horses oftentimes turned into. Spoiled, rotten brats was the common result, but there were always the hot heads, and then there were the ones who stayed sweet their entire lives. It was always a tossup with show horses.

.Elle.
>>Chinese. Definitely not one of Elle's favorites, but when you add up the calories you can get from eating at a Chick-Fil-A, it was honestly no wonder she chose to eat there. Bells tinkled as the door opened and in stepped Elle. Considering the outfit Elle chose to wear that day, there was no doubt the temperature outside was less than comfortable. It took a few moments for Elle to remove her coat, scarf, hat, gloves, and whatever else she had chosen to keep herself warm that day. It seemed that the same Chinese woman had been watching her since her grand entrance, and, appearing very annoyed at her lengthy waiting session, failed to ask whether Elle was alone and seated her only a table away from two other girls having a conversation.
>>Trying desperately not to eavesdrop, she surveyed the menu, strangely, without really seeing it. The same woman appeared with a cup of hot tea and didn't even ask what she wanted. Elle ordered a cup of egg-drop soup. As the woman walked away looking severely peeved, Elle reached for her signature hot pink handbag and dug within it's contents, grabbing a light pink lip gloss. Also retrieving a mirror, she looked at her reflection and began to apply the gloss. She was halfway through when the conversation going on next to her caught her attention. One simple word, did the trick. Horses. She listened for a moment longer, but her curiosity got the best of her. She disposed of her lip gloss and mirror back in her handbag, and turned, feeling only barely selfish for interrupting a conversation she was not part of...yet.
>>"I'm sorry, but did you say, horses?" Maybe it was slightly childish for a nineteen year old to become so excited at the prospect at a conversation concerning equines, but hey, give the girl some credit, at least her passion for them had never died. The waitress returned with her egg-drop soup and dropped it with a clatter in front of Elle, turning away before she had a change to thank the woman. Elle lifted her eyebrows for a moment, unnerved she would be treated in such a manner, yet ignored it. The soup was too hot to be eaten yet and she turned her attention back on the girls.

Callista raised her head and looked at the girl.Hearing her say "I'm sorry, but did you say, horses?"Raiseing her head and lifting her chopsticks to her mouth. She thought over what the girl had said.Simple question really but the question was about the barn that her two kids or err horses where bording at.Right?Than she thought over Evas question.Great questions things that she well didn`t like all that lot.Thinking them over one last time she looked Eva in the eyes and said...
"Desperenzia was a show horse but I want to get a foal out of her eventuly and I am training her to do saddleseat.Witch is sort of hard but right now she is a hunter-jumper and trail horse for now.And my Roan Music is trained in Westren pleasure and up for stud.I have tryed to train him in dressage but he has no patence for it.And yes we where talking about horses,Do you have one?"
She looked at the girl and thanpicked up some noodles and celary off her plate takeing a sip of water before she ate.She looked back up and placed the chopsticks down looking at the two and casting glances around the room. She had talked fast though and her thirst was slowly geeting to her she drank a long sip of water than sighed softly agian looking around. She stared at the waitress who looked seemenly peeved.

(ooc: sorry I didn't reply sooner. we've been moving into our new house the past couple of days)
Eva listened quietly as the girl spoke, smiling in places, nodding in places, making sure she looked intrigued in places. Not that she wasn't intrigued. The girl's horses seemed rather well-brought-up. They were beautiful horses, and Eva wasn't surprised in the least to hear that they showed in several different categories. As the girl -Callista, was her name?- went on for a few moments, Eva noticed the woman that had sat down a few minutes before. Once the short monologue was over, Eva spoke up.
You must have some talented horses. Your mare looks like she'd be a good jumper. The ranch owner complimented.
She sat quietly as Callista politely allowed the new woman into the conversation. As Eva awaited her answer, she pecked at her food listlessly. A list of barn chores she had to do once she got home habitually scrolled through her mind as she listened to the conversation. She never had been big on talking much, herself. Too much red tape in the lot of it. She found it best to just listen, and so far, no one seemed to mind.

>>It was a simple question really. There was no doubt in her mind that they were talking about horses. So they were discussing the barn horses were boarded in, they were still talking about horses, no? But if it means anything, barn or no barn, any sort of horse would have interested Elle. If there was any sort of miscommunication, it didn't bother Elle. Her curiosity refused to waver, and her polite interest never faded from her soft smile. A slight frown suddenly took up on Elle's face. The names of the girl speaking...they sounded vaguely familiar. Where had she heard them? Then it clicked. They also boarded at the main barn, along with her precious baby Mikey. Her smile reappeared as she nodded and answered the girl's question.
>>"Yes, I think I've boarded him where you keep your horses. Is it, the Main Barn?" She asked lightly. She gave a passive glance at her egg-drop soup, which was slowly getting cold and decided against chancing being poisoned. She didn't believe it was beyond the waitress to attempt something. Her trailing thoughts were once again brought into sharp focus at the thought of her baby, and that tender smile was once again pleasantly on her face.

Feeling flooded by some questions she sighed silently and finished her meal. She hadn`t eaten for a half of a day for various reasons and she had been hungry. Now it was time to takle the questions. But before she did so,after hearing the last question of the young lady that had come to the table two and two clicked there was another stallion besides Roan in the barn. And she had the horses name stuck in her head..the horse had a barn name like her two horses and she had rememberd it...Mikey.Or was that the horses real name? But Evas words weren`t questioning..no they where slightly comanding. But the comanding part could just come from her being the manager of a barn. She she anserd.
"Yes Desperenzia is a good jumper in fact I think I shall jump her today sometime.""And yes I do have my two horses in the Main barn,Desperenzia is the black arabian mare, and Roan music is the chestnut Quarter horse stallion."
Stopping to take a breath she sighed agian she needed to stop asking questions and well ansering them..even if they aren`t really questions of some kind, but comandds.Sighing she waved her hand and a waitress came and took her plate away quickly comeing back with the bill and muttering something in her language.Callista sighed and saad to her two friends or as they would be or so she hoped.
[b]"Good-bye,I need to go now.Hopefully to get a house."
